From pregnancy to parenthood

banner-babyfee-07.jpg

How do you approach the postpartum period as parents with as much confidence as possible? What can you do to give your newborn baby the best foundation or comfort, and how do you ensure good communication with your partner? What is the purpose of postpartum tears, and how do you deal with visitors who overstay their welcome?

...That's when it begins, the postpartum period. Parenting is a continuous process of trial and error. There is no one basic handbook. Each child is different. Each parent is different. How do you grow together? And how do you lay the best foundation for all the little challenges you must overcome together? By preparing yourself well, you can be better equipped to face the challenges that arise during parenthood and have more confidence in your own parenting abilities. More knowledge beforehand, instead of afterward.

By creating more awareness about the importance of good attachment and how it contributes to your child's development, including healthy sleep habits.

The postpartum period is often overlooked in preparation for parenthood. Many expectant parents focus mainly on pregnancy and childbirth and forget to prepare for the period after birth. With thorough preparation, you can approach the postpartum period with more confidence. My mission is to give you more knowledge beforehand, instead of afterward. By sharing my knowledge, insights, and experiences through practical tools and tips so that you can apply them yourself.

  • Topics that will be covered include:

  • Birth experience - how to let your baby tell their story after birth

  • What happens during the first weeks of the postpartum period and what you can do for the best recovery

  • Why providing attachment and security is so important and how to apply it in practice

  • How to create a loving and gentle foundation for healthy sleep habits during the newborn phase and beyond

  • Calming a restless baby

  • How to recognize your baby's signals and needs

  • Understand how to establish a good flow during the day and night

  • Structure and routine provide predictability and confidence - how to apply this daily?

“That which you give water and attention to and care for with love, grows into a beautiful flower”

About me

My name is Melanie von Mühlen, I am married to Job and a mother of Oliver, Felipa, and Alixe. We live in Muiderberg.

As far as I can remember, I've always tried to help others. Since becoming a mother, this challenge has determined my ambition and direction. At first, I mainly helped families in my immediate environment. When I saw so many positive effects and noticed that I could really help families, I decided to share my experience with more people. That's when BabyFee was born.

In addition, I continue to develop myself constantly. I have completed a newborn sleep certification for babies from 0-12 weeks at the 'Institute of Pediatric Sleep and Parenting' and have completed a Doula training. I integrate all my knowledge and experiences from the training and workshops of recent years into my BabyFee trajectories. I still do daily research, learn, and devour everything related to this beautiful and complex period of human life.

My mission is to provide parents with more knowledge about how we can teach our babies, among other things, to sleep just before birth or up to three months. To teach a good sleep foundation, good attachment is essential. Through practical and theoretical tips and advice, I teach you how you can do this as parents. I see it as more knowledge beforehand instead of afterwards to prevent various problems. And also more knowledge about the postpartum period and the weeks after to give you a good start to your new life with confidence.

Experiences of other parents...

Caroline

"Thanks to your help and advice, we had confidence and knew step by step how to lay a good foundation. Assistance based on feeling, love, and genuine interest and involvement."

Franca

“We decided to seek Melanie’s advice because our newborn would only sleep whilst being held or in bed with us and would often cry for long periods of time. Melanie paid us a home visit and provided us with lots of reassurances and practical tips. And we have also learned about the power of nurturing our baby and providing lots of cuddles and reassurance. She is very kind and professional.”

Maartje

"So nice to have all the useful information and concrete tips and tricks. All of this together ensured that we had a nice routine and knew what to expect."

Willemijn

"It was very nice to have a 'helpline', especially in the period after the maternity week, with practical tips. But also with encouraging, sweet words from Melanie. This really gave us confidence."

Emma

"The workshop is a good preparation for impending parenthood. Besides a nice (partner) meditation, there was explanation and a lot of practical tips/handholds given for the first phase after birth. We particularly appreciated the tips for working towards a good sleep routine. It was also nice that the information was scientifically substantiated. After attending this workshop, we feel sufficiently prepared for the special phase that lies ahead of us. The workshop was held in a pleasant space in Muiderberg. We can recommend the workshop!"

Doortje

"There are many courses about childbirth, pregnancy, breastfeeding, etc., but not enough about the postpartum period. It's so nice to learn all these good associations from week 5 onwards and to know why we do certain things."

Floor

“Last summer I attended Melanie's online session to prepare for the birth of our second child. The focus during pregnancy and childbirth is mainly on the delivery itself, but how do you handle the overwhelming period afterwards? After an intense postpartum period with our first child, I was looking for tips and tools to do things differently this time. It was great how Melanie gave practical and theoretical tips and advice for a pleasant postpartum period for both parents and the baby, but also how to take care of your own recovery as a mother. Thanks in part to Melanie, I look back on a very enjoyable second postpartum period!”
